Voice AI - Oral Communication Practice

Discover how to use voice AI to improve your oral skills

Improving your oral skills

By using voice AI, you can practice conversations and improve your language or communication skills. This module can provide feedback on your vocabulary and help you express yourself better.

This tool is particularly useful for those learning a new language, wanting to improve their oral communication, or preparing for an oral exam, as the AI offers immediate feedback.

The text field will allow you to enter text or dictate it if you're using a tablet or mobile device incompatible with the voice recognition module integrated into your browser. The experience is less fluid, as you'll need to send your message to receive a response, but it works.

Configuration Options

In the settings button, you'll find the following options:

1. Language and Voice Selection

  1. Voice: You can choose between different available voices. For example, in French, you have the choice between "Léa - FR" and "Céline - FR" (other voices will come).
  2. Question types: Select the tone of questions the AI will use during the conversation:
    • Friendly
    • Formal
    • Challenging
    • Encouraging
    • Enthusiastic

2. Additional Settings

  1. Automatic detection: Allows you to enable or disable automatic voice detection.
  2. Voice threshold: Adjust the voice detection threshold according to your preferences.
  3. Microphone pause timer: Modify the duration of the timer to adjust the time before the microphone automatically pauses after an interaction.

3. Custom Instructions and Prompts

Session customization: You can insert or modify the default prompt so that the AI responds according to the specific information you give it. By default, the prompt instructs IkigenIA that it is an educational AI dedicated to teaching (in the current browser language), that it gives detailed answers, asks questions to encourage reflection, and ends its responses with a question to maintain interaction. It responds in three short sentences, doesn't give code examples or lists, and redirects users to the language menu if they ask to speak in another language.

You can give other instructions depending on the subject you want to cover during the session. The possibilities are endless. If you have any doubts about how to formulate the instructions, we will be happy to guide you.
